My research interests are related to the TV industries, and marketing and promotional culture as it relates to the screen industries. I've got a particular interest in how the TV industries navigate moments of change and am currently researching the impact of the internet on television, exploring areas such as technology, content rights/IP, data and algorithms, and interfaces. I've also got particular interest in public service broadcasting, specifically the current challenges facing public service broadcasters, from a media industries and regulatory/policy perspective. I'm also interested in the digital challenge for the television industry more broadly, including its impact on how people find content and how the industry responds to the problem of discoverability (from user interface design through to marketing and promotion). My research broadly takes a media industries approach to these questions.
